PROJECT EVERGREEN HELPS MILITARY FAMILIES AND WOUNDED/DISABLED VETERANS WITH ITS GREENCARE FOR TROOPS AND SNOWCARE FOR TROOPS PROGRAMS
Project EverGreen is a national non-profit educational organization committed to preserving and enhancing green spaces in our communities where we live, work and play. Project EverGreen’s revitalization projects result in beneficial green spaces that provide positive settings for kids and adults alike to relax, connect with their community and enjoy the outdoors.
GreenCare for Troops, now in its 10th year, is a program that matches volunteers (mostly professional landscapers) with military families who have a loved one deployed and are in need of a little extra help. Our volunteers have agreed to provide landscaping services (lawn mowing, tree trimming, fertilizing, weeding, etc.) free of charge to these military families during the length of the deployment. The program is currently supported by The Toro Co.
SnowCare for Troops, now in its 6th year, helps military families with someone deployed that need help with snow and ice removal (plowing driveways) while their military member is away. This program is supported by The BOSS Snowplows.
As of November 11, 2014, we have expanded the programs to include wounded and disabled veterans. If classified by the U.S. Military as wounded or disabled, these veterans are qualified to receive up to a year of free lawn care and snow removal.
Our hope is to get this message out to more military families and wounded/disabled veterans in need. We have volunteers around the country (though in any one area they might be limited.) For more information or to register for our programs, please visit our website:
